Week 31 & Merry Christmas!!!

Week 31

Baby Size: Pineapple
Baby Length: 16.2 inches
Baby Weight: 4.1 lbs
What is developing: She's going through major brain and nerve development. Eye development, too. Her irises now react to light! All five of her senses are in working order.
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Anything on the calendar? Merry Christmas!! We are celebrating with family and we can't wait to have little Miss. Ava with us next year!!!

Week 30

Baby Size: Cucumber
Baby Length: 15.9 inches
Baby Weight: 3.8 lbs
What is developing: Her skin is getting smoother. But her brain is getting wrinklier -- to make way for all that essential brain tissue. She's now strong enough to grasp a finger!
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Anything on the calendar? We had our 30 week appointment on December 18th and her heartbeat sounded great and strong! Blood pressure was great. She is also measuring right on track. Getting ready for Christmas!

Week 29

Baby Size: Acorn Squash
Baby Length: 15.5 inches
Baby Weight: 3.3 lbs
What is developing: She'sgetting a little cramped in there, since she's growing so fast. She's growing white fat deposits under her skin, and her energy is surging because of it.

How is mommy feeling? I have been battling a nasty sinus and upper respiratory infection so needless to ay been a little miserale. My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger! She is starting to kick harder- not sure if its becuase she is slowly running out of space or just wants to remind me she is in there :)

Anything on the calendar? No dr appts this week. However I am very much looking forward to being off for the holidays. So my last day working for 2012 is Friday and then I am off until January 2, 2013. Then of course the count down to Maternity leave begins. My last day before maternity leave starts is February 8, 2013.

Baby Length: 15 inches
Baby Weight: 3 lbs
What is developing: She's starting to develop more fat, so her wrinkly skin will start to get smoother. Her lungs are mature enough that she'd probably survive if she was born now. Wow!!!
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Anything on the calendar? We had our 28 week appointment today (12/4) and her heartbeat sounded great and strong! Blood pressure was great. She is also measuring right on track.

Baby Size: Rutabaga
Baby Length: 14.3 inches
Baby Weight: 2.7 lbs
What is developing: She's practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs. She is showing brain activity! And her brain will keep on getting more complex.
How is mommy feeling?I am still feeling good but starting to get uncomfortable. She is defiantly growing and moving around like crazy.
Anything on the calendar? We had a great Thanksgiving with my family and Friday went to get our Christmas tree. Our house is ready for Christmas! We have our 28 week dr appt next week.

I bet you may be wondering why i look like a hot mess in every single picture- well its becuase we take this picture on Monday nights when Phil gets home from swimming and i have already taken a nap, made dinner, and laid on the couch!

Baby Size: head of Lettuce
Baby Length: 14 inches
Baby Weight: 2.5 lbs
What is developing: Her eyes are forming, and his eyes will soon start to open and her eyelashes are now grown, too. She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies. She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger! I think she is having her own dance party in there!

Anything on the calendar? It's going to be a busy week- getting things done around the house, celebrating Thanksgiving with family and decorating the house for Christmas!!!! We have so much to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!!!

We are well on our way to having a fully stocked room for little Miss. Ava! Everytime I walk into her room it makes me more and more excited for her arrival!

Baby Length: 13.7 inches
Baby Weight: 2.2 lbs
What is developing: She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium -- she now knows which way is up and which is down.She's growing more fat and more hair too!
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! I am feeling Miss Ava move more and more. It an awesome feeling!

Week 24

Baby Size: Cantaloupe
Baby Length: 12 inches
Baby Weight: 1.8 lbs.
What is developing: The baby’s progress isn’t just about internal stuff, it’s about her looks too. With pinker, more opaque skin, she’s looking more and more, well, like a baby.
How is mommy feeling? I am still feeling great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Anything on the calendar? Tomorrow we have our 24 weeks doctor appointment. Also that yummy glucose test (ugh!).

Week 23

Baby Size: Large Grapefruit
Baby Length: 11 inches
Baby Weight: 18 ounces or 1lb 2oz.
What is developing in our baby girl this week: Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as our dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb (let's hope not because Bronco likes to bark!).
How is mommy feeling? I am feeling great. I just love feeling her move!

Anything on the calendar? We have our hospital tour on Satruday- November 3rd.

Von Hertsenberg Baby Shower- October 27, 2012

We had our very first baby shower on Saturday night and wow did we get a lot of nice things! Thank you to everyone who was there or there in spirit! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. My sister in laws did an amazing job!!

Baby Size: Papaya
Baby Length: 11 inches
Baby Weight: 16 ounces or 1 pound
What is developing: The baby's senses are really developing this week. Taste buds are forming and nerve endings are developed enough for her to experience the sensation of touch.
How is mommy feeling? I have been feeling great! The occasional head aches here and there but over all I feel great. I am so lucky I have been able to do all the crafts I've wanted for her room as well as paint it all pretty pink!!!

Anything on the calendar? Busy weekend ahead! Our first baby shower! The Von Hertsenberg shower is this weekend (Saturday) and I am very excited! Also we are celebrating my dad's birthday on Sunday with my family- our celebration will consist of craving pumpkins and eating mom's homemade greek chili!!!

Baby Length: 10.5 inches
Baby Weight: 12.7 ounces
How is mommy feeling? I am feeling great! I am still able to wear most of my pants with the help of a hair band but hey that still counts! It is amazing how much this little girl is moving! I think she is going to be a dancer for sure.
Yummy foods: Not having any particular cravings. I am still having a hard time looking at raw meat. YUCK!
Anything on the calendar? No DR appts this week. Today is Bronco's 1st birthday!! We are going to celebrate with Frosty Paws for him and ice cream for me and Phil!!! Busy week ahead- Pumpkin Festival and Bengal's game. The baby's room is all painted and all the furniture is put together.

Week 20

Baby Size: Banana
Baby Length: 6.5 inches
Baby Weight:   10.6 ounces- She weighed 10oz on Thursday October 4th! Right on track!
What is developing: The baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth.
How is mommy feeling? I am feeling great! My belly is getting bigger and bigger! I am very anxious to meet our little girl! I love her so much already!

Anything on the calendar?  I have a dr appt check up tomorrow (Tuesday October 9th). I spent weekend organizing all the clothes I got from my sister. My niece Aubree will be a year old in January so needless to say- we have a lot of very cute clothes from her! I am so looking forward to Aubree and our daughter having a close cousin relationship like i did with my cousins. Also I can't wait to make them matching holiday outfits like my mom did for us! ha I always said I wouldn't do that- but its just to darn cute!

It's a Girl!! Ultrasound Pictures 19 weeks 3 days

A GIRL!!!!!!

So we had our 20 week ultrasound done on October 4th. The night before I said to Phil, "If you really don't want to find out- I am willing to reconsider!" The entire night I tossed and turned with anticipation of finding out the gender of the blessing growing inside of me. I know a lot of people have their opinions of whether to wait or find out but I needed to know. I think its a decision you have to make and be prepared to accept your decision. I had a feeling that the miracle in my belly was a girl but I wanted Phil to have that connection as well. When the ultrasound confirmed my feelings I was in shock! Not only was I right but my mom was too (well darn I guess I should just give up and start listening to her more often- ok that sounded good for about 5 seconds! :)

I was going to be happy with blue or pink, trucks or dolls, football or ballet- I personally wanted to know! So our little bundle of joy is a girl and I am still trying to wrap my mind around it!
